MILLINGTON POOL & BAYSIDE LANDING POOL
The pools will be open for public use weekends only from Memorial Day weekend through mid June and late August through Labor Day, when Kent County Public Schools are in session, from 12 pm - 7 pm. Millington Pool will be open Tuesday through Sunday and Bayside Landing Pool will be open Thursday through Sunday, 12 pm-7 pm during the summer months when Kent County Public Schools are not in session. Millington pool is closed on Mondays. with the exception of Memorial Day and Labor Day.  All pools are open on Memorial Day, July 4th,

COMMUNITY CENTER POOL
The pool will be open for public use weekends only from Memorial Day weekend through mid June and late August through Labor Day, when Kent County Public Schools are in session, from (day after Labor Day through day before May opening) 12 pm-7 pm. The pool will be open daily from Noon until 7 pm during the summer months when Kent County Public Schools are not in session. The Community Center also features an independently run concession stand that is open for business and ready to serve you from April through September (weather permitting).

POOL REGULATIONS

  • Millington and Bayside Pool Daily Admission: FREE
  • Kent County Community Center Pool Daily Admission:
    $3 (with Facility Access Card) / $5 (without Facility Access Card)/$2 Night/ Swim or Season Pass (Individual or Family)
    Please see the Kent County Community Center General Policies (page 5) for Facility Access Card rates.
  • Individual Season Pass: $65 (KCCC Pool)
  • Family Pass (Family of 4): $200 (KCCC Pool) Each additional family member: $25 (must be purchased in a single transaction)
  • Children under the age of 12 entering the pool area must be accompanied and cared for (at pool side) by a responsible person or parent 16 years old or older.
  • Children under the age of six must have a responsible person or parent in the water with them and within arms reach.
  • There must be one responsible person or parent for every five children.
  • No radios, tape/CD player, or electronic/portable devices are permitted in the pool area.
  • All children may be subject to a swim test by a certified lifeguard.
  • Food in delivery containers is not permitted inside pool gates.
  • No glass bottles or containers permitted inside pool gates.
  • No alcoholic beverages or tobacco permitted.
  • Children under the age of four may be required to wear a swim diaper. Swim diapers are available for purchase.

BETTERTON BEACH

This 5.2 acre waterfront park offers a sandy beach with a volleyball court, bathhouse, Mary Roe Walkup Picnic Pavilion, stone fishing jetty, and transient boat launching ramp (please call the County Public Landings office at 410-778-7439 for more boat ramp details). SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Lifeguards are only on duty Thursday- Sunday, 10 am-6 pm (pending lifeguard availability). Dogs are not permitted on the beach. Grilling is only permitted in the pavilion area, not on the beach.

KENT COUNTY BEACH ADVISORIES

The Kent County Health Department, Environmental Health Services Department conducts regular water quality tests to determine bacterial levels. When bacterial levels exceed acceptable levels, swimming in open water such as beaches is not recommended. Please click here for the most up to date beach advisory information or contact the Environmental Health Services Department at 410-778-1361.

Rainfall Advisory

After rainfall, individuals should exercise caution and avoid swimming/direct water contact for at least 48 hours due to predicted high bacterial levels.

BETTERTON BEACH REGULATIONS

  • SWIM AT YOUR OWN RISK. Lifeguards are only on duty Thursday- Sunday, 11 am-6 pm (pending lifeguard availability).
  • Park personnel have full authority in the park.
  • No pets permitted on public bathing beach or picnic area year round.
  • No alcoholic beverages permitted on the beach.
  • No glass containers permitted on the beach.
  • No jumping or swimming from the jetty or pier.
  • No fires permitted in the park.
  • Cooking grills permitted in the pavilion area only.
  • Keep the beach clean–deposit trash in proper containers.
  • Park in designated parking areas only.
  • Beach and pavilion closed from dusk to dawn.
  • Parking lot and public landing closed 10 pm until 5 pm.
  • Skateboards, roller skates/blades, and bicycles are prohibited on boardwalk and in the picnic pavilion.
