All programs at the Kent County Community Center require a
Facility Access Card for patrons twelve years of age and older.

WINTER HOLIDAY CAMP


Ages: Kindergarten-5th grade
Dates: December 27-30
Time: 8 am-4:30 pm
Place: Community Center
Cost: $40 per child (25% discount for siblings)
$20 per child maximum scholarship award
(plus $10-$12 field trip fee-includes lunch)

*Limited to 30 children. A minimum of 10 children must be registered and paid in full by 14 days before the program starts in order to hold this camp.

Fun, safe, structured activities designed for school age children that include arts and crafts, games, snack and more during Winter break. Children must bring a packed lunch each day except Thursday, December 31, which has been designated as field trip day. Two nutritious snacks will be provided each day. Phone and email reservations will be accepted beginning late November.

*A registration form is not required if your child is currently enrolled in the Elementary Afterschool Program.

Whether it's tumbling into a pile of leaves in the yard or jumping off the side of a sofa at home, chances are your child is full of energy.  Let us teach them to harness that energy and apply it to Tumbling and Movement!  Tiny Tumblers (ages 2-3) is a parent/child class in a structured environment that focuses on stretching, balance, following directions, and social interaction through music and games.  Mini Movers (ages 4-5) is an independent learning class with an emphasis on tumbling, rolls, balance, strength, and coordination through stations, relays, games, and an encouraging teaching method.  Primary Poppers (ages 6-10) is a class designed to challenge children to learn new skills in order to develop their confidence.  Apparatuses such as the balance beam, bar, mat, and vault will be used to teach the basic fundamentals of tumbling as children perfect rolls, walkovers, cartwheels, handstands, and more while moving through stations.  Mini Movers and Primary Poppers will present a showcase of skills for family and friends on the last day of class.

Magical creatures need habitat too! Join staff from the Sassafras Environmental Education Center (SEEC) to building Fairy Houses and place them in the woods and fields for our fairy friends to find. Materials will be provided. Dress to be outside: sturdy walking shoes, coats, hats, and gloves.

ELEMENTARY AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

Fun, safe, structured activities after school designed for school age children that include arts and crafts, educational themes, homework time, sports and recreational activities. Conveniently located at Kent County Public Schools’ four elementary schools, the program is open Monday through Friday when school is in session. In the event that school is closed or closes early, the program will be closed. Each location is limited to 30 children.

LAST DAYS OF SUMMER REC CLUB

Now that school is starting after Labor Day, spend the last two weeks of summer with us! Each day participants will enjoy swimming at the Community Center Pool, along with fun, safe, structured activities including arts and crafts and games. Children must bring a packed lunch each day- we will provide two snacks. Phone and email reservations accepted begining August 1. The program is limited to (30) children with a minimum enrollment of (10) children paid in full and registration form complete by Friday, August 18.

**A non refundable deposit of $70 is due to secure your child's spot. A minimum of $35 of the deposit is required of all participants at the time of registration. The remaining deposit balance (if applicable) is due by June 16. There will be no exceptions to this policy. All scholarship applicants are required to pay the non-refundable deposit (even if awarded a scholarship).

*Weekly Payment Sibling Discount:
Each additional child in same household paying on a weekly basis will receive 25% discount.

Please be advised that if you are on a weekly payment plan and your child is registered but does not attend the first full session, the spot will be cancelled for all remaining sessions if proper notification is not provided the week before the session starts.

$490 for entire summer per child
(Kiddie/Day Camp)- A savings of $70

***The Entire Summer Fee must be paid in full by 4:30 pm the Friday (June 23) before camp begins to recieve the discounted rate. Sibling discount and entire summer discounts cannot be combined. No refunds issued to sessions not attended.

KIDDIE CAMP

This activity-oriented summer program is designed specifically for children ages 3 ½-5 allowing for growth, learning and fun in a structured setting. Individual and group play,
as well as creativity are emphasized. Indoor and outdoor games, arts and crafts, story telling, movies, songs, plus special events are included. Snacks and juice are provided
daily. Children must bring a non-refrigerated lunch each day.
This program limited to 18 children. Half day morning option is available for Kiddie Camp only. Registration begins
April 1.

DAY CAMP

Day camp introduces children ages 6-10 to a healthy and fit life style, socialization skills, nature appreciation, cultural diversity, and challenging individual and group activities.
There will be weekly field trips (additional cost), swimming, arts and crafts, movies, special events and much more. Fees are based on full day, weekly attendance. Children must bring a non-refrigerated lunch and two snacks each day.

YOUTH IN ACTION CAMP

Recognizing the need for leadership, guidance, and opportunities for youth entering grades five and six, Youth In Action was fostered through its notably successful predecessor Leaders Club. Youth will participate in a highly structured program that promotes strong values and character building, fit and healthy life style choices, nature appreciation, as well as, fun and educational field trips and events. This program is limited to 28 children. Children must bring a non refrigerated lunch and two snacks each day. Registration begins April 1.

TOTS OF FUN

Need to get the little ones outside of the house during those cold and chilly months? Join other parents and children for drop in play time for preschoolers. It is the perfect opportunity to promote socialization, sharing, and fun! Some balls and scooters are provided but please feel free to bring your own indoor toys.
