Youth sports administered by volunteer organizations
require independent registration forms. Contact the representative
listed below each sport for registration information.

All programs at the Kent County Community Center require a
Facility Access Card for patrons twelve years of age and older.

YOUTH SPORTS EQUIPMENT GRANT

The Kent County Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is accepting requests for proposals for youth sports equipment funding. In order to be eligible for this funding, a representative of the youth sports organization that is submitting the proposal must have attended the annual Sports League Presidents meeting hosted by Kent County Parks and Recreation annually.

KENT YOUTH LACROSSE

Registration for youth lacrosse begins December each year. Registration can be completed online at www.KentYouthLacrosse.com. The cost (subject to change) includes U.S. Lacrosse membership. $40 for each additional child

Registration for youth softball begins in January each year. Registration deadline is March 3.

Come be a part of a rich history of great wrestling in Kent County. The Junior Wrestling Program is a member of the Upper Chesapeake Wrestling League, giving young wrestlers the opportunity to compete against some of the best wrestlers in Maryland. A minimum number of 12 participants must be registered in order to continue this program.

KCPR Basketball League places an emphasis on fun, skill development, equal participation, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Volunteer coaches will cover the fundamentals of defense, shooting, dribbles, as well as the rules and strategies of the game. Players practice and play games with volunteer coaches officiating.

The Start Smart Sports development program is an exciting and innovative approach to helping children as young as three years old learn and develop basic motor skills - like throwing, catching, kicking, and hitting - with their parents! This is a great way to help children to learn skills and build confidence as well as develop friendships and parental relationships. Each sport meets for 5 sessions over a 5 week period:

INDOOR BATTING CAGE

For sport leagues and individuals who want to keep their skills sharp throughout the winter months, the batting cage is sure to attract many users. Availability of batting cage will be limited due to high interest so don’t delay in securing your rental dates. A private rental of Gym B at the Community Center is required. PLATFORM TENNIS COURTS ARE OPEN!

Platform Tennis, often referred to as Paddle Tennis, is an American racquet sport enjoyed by thousands of people of all ages. It is the only racquet sport that players can enjoy outdoors in cold weather. This unique appeal attracts people who desire fresh air, competition, and social engagement-all on a chilly winter's day or night. Newly relocated at Worton Park, the sport will be played at both highly competitive and purely recreational levels.
